Sokoto Chapter Holds Coordination Meeting on Youth Wing Structure and Enrolment

The Sokoto State Chapter of the City Boy Movement on Tuesday, 15 September 2026, held a coordination meeting at A. Shehu Arena to strengthen the Youth Wing structure and accelerate the enrolment of members on the national portal, cbmnigeria.org.

The sitting was convened by the Director, Local Government Coordination, Junaidu Mu’azu Jodi, and brought together Directors and wing officials present in Sokoto. In attendance were Abdullahi Shehu, Director, Youth and Sport; Shamsiyya Barau Isaa, Women Leader; Hassana Iliyasu, Director, Programmes; Hajiya Hauwa’u Aliyu Abubakar III, Director, Market Development; Sadiya Taheer of the Women Wing; and Mahdi Shehu of the Youth and Sport Wing, who serves as ICT and Data Officer.

Members first introduced themselves and familiarised with one another’s portfolios, underscoring the Chapter’s resolve to work as one organised body rather than as isolated offices.

Youth enrolment and structure. The meeting agreed that an efficient Youth Wing structure must be in place on or before Friday, 18 September 2026. Operations were scheduled to commence at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, 16 September 2026. The Director, Youth and Sport, authorised his ICT and Data Officer to create his account on the national portal immediately and to proceed with enrolment under his referral. Directors noted that his presence on the platform would improve Sokoto’s standing on the national leadership board and expand public participation in the Movement.

A call for unity of purpose. Alhaji Abdullahi Shehu highlighted the need for closer coordination among Directors so that each office is familiar with the others and can contribute to a common programme. He expressed concern that the Chapter must not lag behind other States in organisation, public acceptance, and the inclusion of party and government stakeholders in Movement activities. He undertook to discuss the way forward with the State Director, encouraged the team to make full use of the existing office pending the permanent office, and assured members of his support for activities properly sponsored under cityboysokoto.org.

Follow-up sitting of Directors. Before his departure for Abuja, the Director, Youth and Sport, proposed a meeting of all Directors currently in Sokoto. The proposal was adopted. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 16 September 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at A. Shehu Arena. On the suggestion of the Director, Programmes, every Director is to submit items for the agenda not later than 4:00 p.m. on the same day, so that the sitting is properly guided and productive.

The Director, Local Government Coordination, who presided, prepared and signed the official minutes for transmission through the Office of the State Coordinator to the State Director.

The Sokoto Chapter reaffirms its commitment to organised membership, youth inclusion and coordinated leadership as the City Boy Movement continues to grow across the Federation.
