The Women Economic Empowerment Programme is the flagship of the City Boy Movement in Sokoto State. It is built on a simple conviction: the fastest route to household stability is a woman with her own income.
Working ward by ward, we identify women already trading, farming, tailoring or processing food at a small scale, and give them the capital, tools and mentoring they need to move from survival to enterprise.
Our target is 100 women in each of the 244 wards — 24,400 women reached across the 23 Local Government Areas of Sokoto State.

Practical training in pricing, record keeping, savings discipline, customer service and simple digital selling.
Women are organised into ward cooperatives so they can buy in bulk, save together and negotiate better prices.
Established traders and women entrepreneurs mentor new beneficiaries for at least six months after disbursement.

Women are the single largest beneficiary group of the entire agenda. Every empowered woman supports an average of six dependants — reaching 24,400 women means touching well over 140,000 lives across Sokoto State.
