The candidate

Umaru Ajiya Isaa
Senator, Sokoto East Senatorial District
Umaru Ajiya, titled Ajiyan Sokoto by His Eminence the Sultan, was born on 12 March 1965 in Isa town, Isa Local Government Area. He is a chartered-track accountant who spent more than three decades in the oil and gas sector and rose to Chief Financial Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL). He is known in Sokoto East for scholarships, school and hospital support, mosque rehabilitation and relief after attacks. He joined APC in August 2025 and was affirmed the party’s Sokoto East senatorial candidate in May 2026. He seeks election in 2027 to take East-zone security, education and jobs into the Senate, in support of Governor Ahmad Aliyu and Renewed Hope.
